Exhibition held to raise funds for disadvantaged northwestern children

HCMC – On the occasion of International Children’s Day on June 1, the fifth Return to Sapa exhibition was opened in HCMC to raise funds for disadvantaged children in the northern town of Sapa and remote northwestern regions.

The exhibition features over 20 paintings on northwestern women, children and landscapes that were created by children from mountainous regions and painters Ha Hung Dung and Thanh Thuan.

Over the past 10 years, the proceeds of the Return to Sapa exhibition series have been used to provide necessities to thousands of poor children. The third edition saw 700 gift sets and coats distributed to students at Coc Lau Primary School and Hoang Thu Pho Kindergarten in Bac Ha District in 2018, while its fourth edition saw the donation of 600 gift sets containing coats, schoolbags, books, notebooks and stationery to poor children in 2019.

According to the organizer, 100% of the fifth exhibition's proceeds will be used to provide relief to needy children in the remote and mountainous northwestern regions.
